Uganda

Helen Owen, who is one of our members and also a local preacher, does a huge amount of charitable work to support a poor community near Kampala in Uganda. She visits the country regularly, and over the years she has bought land and built a school. She has set up her own charity, the Helen Margaret Owen Foundation, and has been nominated for awards for her work.  She holds regularly fundraising coffee mornings at church and other events in the local area. Our knitting group, Loving Hearts and Hands, makes items for the charity.
