Eco Church

As Christians, we believe that we have a responsibility to do all that we can to care for God’s earth.

In 2023, we became an Eco Church, joining a scheme run by the charity A Rocha UK, which provides a framework for practical action to care for our planet.

​

We have an Eco Church Bronze award, in recognition of the steps we have taken to minimise the environmental harm caused by our activities and to address the social injustice associated with climate change.

​

So far, measures we have taken include:

·       regular church services focusing on the climate crisis

·       practical advice for church members

·       recycling

·       avoiding, as far as possible, the use of single-use plastics

·       switching to green energy tariffs

·       serving Fairtrade tea and coffee after services

·       having a monthly Fairtrade stall

·       reducing our energy consumption

·       planning to stop using gas in our buildings
